Get the most out of your S2Maui sails with these simple tips for perfect tuning.
The S2maui have a very wide wind range, so often while others change sails, with the S2Maui this can be avoided by adjusting appropriately.
The S2Maui sails have very intuitive tuning and adjustment, so we can start with simple initial tips:
- Use a Mast constant curve with a good % of carbon >80%.
- Follow the length indications Mast and Booms indicated on the sail, keep in mind that depending on the Booms and the Extension you use, you may add or subtract a couple of cm compared to what is indicated on the sail, because each brand (of Booms and Extensions) measures the length (in cm) from different points.
- Tighten the downhaul completely and then adjust only the Clew depending on whether you want more or less power.
- The Head of the S2Maui will never open too much, this is because the sails have a different geometry and wind release system compared to other sails.
- To understand if you have adjusted the Clew correctly, looking at the sail profile from the clew/Booms, the last batten at the bottom should form a "concave" U profile, if the batten forms an "S" profile, it means that the Clew is too tight, so loosen it until it forms the U.
