The 2023 Catalyst "The pure surfing sail" is perfect for wave in clean side, side-off conditions and aggressive down-the-line riding by Camille Juban. For 2023 the Catalyst continues to benefit from the incredibly resistant and low-stretch new Carbon WX Spacelight ™ mixed with the ultra-light Technora ™ Spacelight ™. Particular attention has been paid to load orientation according to the layout of the WARP-PATH ™-system by S2Maui, (very important for 3-batten sails), resulting in excellent profile stability and wind-range in gusty off-shore wind conditions. Also for 2023 the use of three different versions of Technora ™ Spacelight ™ each of which perfectly adapts to the structural requirements of the individual parts of the sail
The 2023 Catalyst is the lightest 3-batten wave sail on the market! Instant ON/OFF, with a very smooth power delivery. Fast, soft, maneuverable; it offers impeccable turns and speed during maneuvers. The neutrality and invisibility between the hands is something unimaginable, a sail that can be used with two fingers. Despite being a 3-batten, even in sizes like the 3.8, it is incredibly stable and precise thanks to its construction and materials used.
Featherweight, low pull on the backhand, designed for explosive and fast maneuvers equipped with stability and instant reactivity for maximum level performance giving "energy" to wave-riding. It will facilitate aggressive lines and progressive moves like taka, goiters, and 360°. Fast and agile, the Catalyst allows for more verticality in the wave section and deeper cuts. Quick and agile, the Catalyst lets you explore your limits!
The exclusive FocusPoint ™ shape by S2Maui, together with the panel arrangement, the WARPPATH ™ layout, and the 3 mini-battens ensure profile stability, wind-range, and great control in gusty off-shore conditions. This allows for complete focus on the surf.
The virtually zero elasticity of the carbon fiber oriented to the load of the WARP-PATH™ layout panel provides an incredibly stable and reactive structure, particularly important in a 3-batten sail. New shape and orientation of the panels of the upper body of the sail Technora™ Spacelight™ have been optimized and changed, thus improving the twist and response during top-turns.
